Advanced Statistics are a great way to get more information from a box score. Websites like Basketball-Reference and Hoop Data do a great job of providing a lot of these statistics over the season. But what about when the statistics aren't handy and all you have is raw data? I ran into this problem trying to calculate advanced stats during the preseason, because using the formulas to calculate it by hand was a pain.
I've created this Advanced Statistics Calculator to help out with that. Using this calculator, as long as you have the information at hand, you can calculate Advanced Statistics for a game, a series of games, or whatever time period you want. Now you can even calculate Advanced Stats for your rec league, as long as you have the data.
I don't have calculators yet for all of basketball's advanced statistics yet, but I will try my best to add them as soon as I can (working out the code for PER is going to be extremely time-consuming). If you guys encounter any errors, or have requests or questions, leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail.
Tip: For a single non-overtime NBA game, Team Minutes Played is 240. If there was overtime, simply add 25 for each overtime period.
Calculators: EFG%, TS%, ORB%, DRB%, TRB%, AST%, TOV%, BLK%, STL%, USG, Team Possessions, Pace, Team Offensive Rating, Team Defensive Rating
Effective Field Goal %
True Shooting %
Offensive Rebound %
Defensive Rebound %
Total Rebound %
Assist Rate
Turnover Rate
Block Rate
Usage
Team Possessions
Pace
Steal Rate
Team Offensive Rating
Team Defensive Rating
Good work, this definately makes calculating these so much easier. Looking forward to seeing the next round of calculators
